# Boy Crisis

[Now even *Newsweek* has picked up on the boy crisis in education and society as a whole](http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10965522/site/newsweek/?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). What's the answer to the increasing failure rate of males? According to [this article](http://www.nationalreview.com/lowry/lowry200601240828.asp?ref=thedailyeudemon.com), there are at least two crucial needs: (1) teachers need to stop treating boys as girls (or as "defective girls"); (2) boys need a father in their life (and, I would suggest, every day, not just on the weekends and every other Wednesday).

> "One of the most reliable predictors of whether a boy will succeed or fail in high school," Newsweek reports, "rests on a single question: Does he have a man in his life to look up to?" It continues: "An increasing number of boys – now a startling 40 percent – are being raised without biological dads. Psychologists say that grandfathers and uncles can help, but emphasize that an adolescent boy without a father figure is like an explorer without a map."
