A 73-year-old woman is being investigated for “kidnapping and maltreating a family member” after allegedly keeping her mentally disturbed daughter locked in a darkened bathroom for 30 years.

The story has a judgmental tone to it. Has anyone considered that maybe the mother is mentally disturbed, too (who else but a mental defective does such a thing)? Who are we to judge? Put the mother and daughter back together again and stop all this judgmentalism.
