Day two was remarkably more subdued than day one (see my previous post). The level of ridicule was back to the old levels (mostly reserved for the pompous), they had a great "feel good" story, and the best contestant was a modest and attractive 16-year-old girl with a mother and father. She's also African-American, so I'm calling her the Bizarro Fantasia.
Don't expect many more posts about American Idol from me, but I figured as long as I'm sitting through a few episodes ("family moments"), I might as well keep y'all up to date.
The season debut of "American Idol" smashed Fox ratings records again Tuesday night, delivering the network's largest entertainment programming audience in its history.
About 35.5 million people caught the start of "Idol's" march to May. . . .
"Idol" logged more viewers than ABC, CBS and NBC combined.
