The fury over the Steelers/Colts call picked up a little steam. The Steelers' Joey Porter accused the refs of cheating. The NFL moved to do damage control, saying that the call rests within the ref's judgment (thanks for the enlightenment, NFL). The sports commentators who depend for their livelihood on the integrity of major sports defended the call. I'm sticking by my earlier assessment: something is rotten in stripedom. It might just be a stray ref or two, but something ain't right.

I took five kids to the store this evening. The cashier asked, "Are these all your kids?" I said, "It's not all of them, but they 're mine." She asked how many I have. I told her "seven." She smiled politely, but her eyes said "freak."

Great weather in Michigan. I was able to walk to and from the office today, and I even took a late morning walk to the local convenience/liquor store and picked up some energy drinks for those long days at the office. Lots of fresh air for a January day.
