Have you heard Michigan's slogan? "Pure Michigan." It's never struck me as anything special, but I guess it's been so successful that other states are trying to come up with their own "Pure Michigan" type slogan. He was struck by how successful The McCoys were with "Hang on Sloopy," and wanted to come up with a song that featured a novel girl name. He looked out his New York hotel and saw the Mutual of New York building with its mark "MONY." He knew he had his novel girl's name. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* Sorry I didn't weigh in on [Indiana's religious freedom law](http://www.indystar.com/story/news/politics/2015/03/29/religious-freedom-law-really-means-indiana/70601584/?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). As a blogging lawyer licensed in Indiana, I would've been uniquely situated to do so, but it was Holy Week and other pressing matters diverted my attention. Suffice it to say, I haven't read the law yet, but from what I can tell, it gives businesses the right to deny services to gays if such a service would require the business to compromise its religious values. So, a Christian grocer wouldn't have much of a basis to deny homosexuals fruit, but a Christian photographer couldn't be forced to attend a gay wedding. It strikes me as more than reasonable, but again, I haven't looked into it more than catching snippets here and there. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* If you're looking for a fun parochial school project, check out [this short Ark of the Covenant human-interest story](http://www.sanduskyregister.com/news/education/7796546?ref=thedailyeudemon.com).
