It would seem that a surge in [William Graham Sumner](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William%5FGraham%5FSumner?ref=thedailyeudemon.com#The%5FForgotten%5FMan) (1840-1910) might do this country a lot of good: "Sumner celebrated “the forgotten man,” the independent middle-class man who falls between the cracks of the plutocrats on the one hand and the paupers who receive benefits from government reformers and planners on the other."
