It'd be the biggest conversion since Oscar Wilde:
Fidel Castro wants Pope Benedict XVI to visit Cuba, an Italian prelate has disclosed.
The Cuban dictator told Cardinal Bertone that he saw Pope Benedict as a man with "the face of an angel-- the face of a very good man." Castro asked the Italian cardinal: "Could you tell the Pope that I want to invite him here?"
Cardinal Bertone said that he promised to relay the message, while at the same time reminding Castro that, because of his age, the Pope does not plan to travel frequently.
The cardinal reported that Castro also declared himself in favor of the rapid beatification of Pope John Paul II.
