Miscellaneous Rambling

My Michigan Wolverines might be reaching the nadir of its storied 135-year football history. I'm expecting the bottom to fall out this year. I'm predicting they'll go 5-7. After all, "in two games against Power 5 opponents this season (first Notre Dame, and now Utah), Michigan's offense has failed to score a touchdown. It hasn't even reached the red zone." Link. * * * * * * * Great factoid from Reddit's Today I Learned: "TIL that Mexican shamans began to use Coca-Cola in their religious rituals to heal worshippers. When PepsiCo discovered this, they offered commissions to shamans for using Pepsi instead. When Coca-Cola began paying too, rival religious groups were formed based on which soft drink they use." * * * * * * * Happy first day of fall. It started late this year. * * * * * * * I've never been "into" Hollywood very much, but this collection of photos from bygone Hollywood days is awfully impressive. * * * * * * * One of the best blog posts of the month. * * * * * * * Nassim Taleb holds Ralph Nader in high regard. I might buy this book, even though I make it a rule never to read new releases (Taleb's being an exception, as would any book by Bill Kauffman). Anyone read it yet? Any comments?
