Miscellaneous Rambling

I attended my 30th class reunion last Saturday night. It wasn't well attended, but we had a solid showing and I got to catch up with a handful of friends that I hadn't seen in years. The drinking club (the venue for the event) apparently mixes their vodka tonics pretty strong, though. I unexpectedly found myself well above the legal limit for driving (but, I'm reasonably comfortable, well below the mortal limit for sin). \* \* \* \* \* \* \* A priest once told me, incidentally, that you hit the mortal sin threshold when you drink so much that you lose the ability to reason. I told him that seemed to give a person a lot of leeway, and he said, "Yup, you'd have to drink a lot of alcohol to hit that point. If you have any doubt the morning after, ask your wife how you were." \* \* \* \* \* \* \* I ran across this great quote while Googling yesterday morning: "The drunken man is a living corpse."
