A 10-year-old girl was so disgusted by the ghoulish slasher Santa on East 18th Street she wrote the couple who put it in their front yard yesterday and begged them to take it down – for fear it would destroy Christmas.
"The first time I saw your Christmas display, I thought it would take the holiday spirit out of me," wrote Iris B., a fifth-grader.
"To me, Christmas should be about giving, sharing and being joyful."
The little girl's plea for holiday sanity was addressed to Joel Krupnik and his wife, Mildred Castellanos, whose gory display . . . features a Santa with a knife in one hand and a severed head oozing blood from its eyes in the other.
In front of the Santa is a bare Christmas tree adorned with the severed heads and bloody bodies of Barbie dolls.
The couple, who live in a $3 million brownstone on East 18th Street, say they put up the outrageous display to protest the commercialization of Christmas.
Yeah, these folks might be jerks.
