Technology over Morality
Very American of these Jewish folks: using technology to get around moral considerations:
Machines will perform euthanasia on terminally ill patients in Israel under legislation devised not to offend Jewish law, which forbids people taking human life.
Link.
Actually, it kinda strikes me as Pharisaical: keeping the law, but not the spirit. Maybe American and its obsession with technological advance to the exclusion of the spirit of morality is Pharisaical. I'd never thought of it that way, but it bears further consideration.
