Nock

A Random Passage
Passages from my reading that I would hope most TDE readers find at least mildly interesting
One of my favorite Nock observations:
“The idea that [literacy] is an absolute good is one of the oddest and most indefensible superstitions rampant in our superstition-ridden society. To prove this, one has but to look at what our literates mostly read, and what their reading habits are.”
So counter-cultural, so troubling in its at-least partial grasp of something very true.
