Miscellaneous Rambling

My first "real" post since returning from Rome. I plan on giving a complete account of my time in Rome on Monday. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* [Theodore Dalrymple's latest at *Taki's Magazine*](http://takimag.com/article/i%5Fhave%5Fseen%5Fthe%5Ffuture%5Fand%5Fit%5Fis%5Fidiocy%5Ftheodore%5Fdalrymple?ref=thedailyeudemon.com#axzz2kdcm1eSI) is worth reading. Unfortunately, it doesn't lend itself to easy excerpting, so I'll just summarize it: The incentives of the government sector are dramatically out of whack with the average citizen's, so much so that it's not even possible for the individual to understand the government any more.
