[A columnist at *WaPo* weighs in on the stem cell research question](http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/11/AR2005111101634.html?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). The writer is upset that scientists are coming up with bizarre ways to obtain embryonic stem cells that dont' run afoul of religious or philosophical objections. I can't comment on that, but I found it interesting that the writer doesn't even address the alternative of non-embryonic stem cells. Based on my readings, this is a highly viable option, yet when I venture into more liberal reading waters, the option is never even discussed. The debate isn't even joined, much less won by either side.
