Good for DNA
Cops armed with new DNA evidence believe that they will finally nail a man who brutally raped and killed a pretty Fordham University grad and aspiring nun 28 years ago.
But for the devastated family of Roberta "Robin" Elam – a 26-year-old attacked and strangled as she sat reading a Bible on a sunny hillside on the grounds of a West Virginia convent in 1977 – it is almost too much to hope.
"Each time, you pray for an answer – maybe this time, one will finally come. It is so difficult, and still very, very painful," Elam's mother, Mary, told The Post.
