Monday

Miscellany

The Weather Channel again missed a forecast. They not only botched up all of March and April, but last week WC resolutely clung to its prediction that Monday night temperatures would be in the 37-40 range. Meanwhile, Accuweather had been predicting sub-32 temps for a full week. As we got closer to frost Armageddon, the Weather Channel relented and gradually dropped its predicted temperature, but it didn't actually predict lower than 32 until last Friday. Accuweather, meanwhile, stayed steady with its 29-degree temperature and was exonerated.

Since I started using Accuweather about a month ago, I've noticed that they seem more reliable than WC. I'm switching over. They have an app; they have a great website. This isn't a paid announcement. It's a sincere, if only half-informed, opinion.

CNN

I guess Jon Stewart has been thrashing CNN for its unreliable news coverage. Pretty funny stuff.

Bitcoin

I plan on buying some Bitcoin. I listened to a podcast about it awhile ago (last summer, I think), and meant to buy some, but it quickly fell off my radar. I regret it now, of course. Anyway, this guy at Forbes lived on Bitcoin for a week and learned quite a lot.
