Decent documentary last night on ABC about Jesus and Paul (at least the first ninety minutes that I watched while exercising and cleaning house). I was struck mostly, however, by the lack of content. I remember reading once that thirty minutes of TV documentary script can be read in five minutes or less by the average reader. Last night's show was filled with pointless music and other gaps. The information provided was interesting but way too sparse. I think most viewers could've read the entire three-hour script in twenty minutes, plus ten minutes to look at the pretty pictures, leaving two-and-a-half hours for other things in life.
Many viewers no doubt thought the three hours were well-spent. Just one of many ways that TV deludes its viewers.
