Will Ave Maria Law School move to Florida? The whole thing is highly disturbing. From all appearances, everything seemed to be proceeding very well for the law school in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Why the (apparent) urge to go to Florida? I honestly don't know. But I read this morning that my friend, Professor Charles Rice, has been removed from the Ave Maria Board. According to some, it was because he opposes the move to Florida. Link.
I don't know what is going on, but I can assure readers of this: Professor Charles Rice is a man of highest integrity. A father of ten children and former marine, he has a no-nonsense approach to teaching and the law. Though diplomatic and kind, he has enough of the "loose cannon" air about him to keep bullies at arm's length.
