Our kids' parochial school held its annual fundraiser last Saturday. One of the events was a pumpkin-carving contest. This entry was really cool. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* Find of the year: *The Philokalia*, Kindle edition, just $1.99\. I downloaded it Sunday night. It appears to be the full four volumes, but the criticism in the Amazon "User Reviews" is apt so if the points criticized are important to you, it might not be worth the $1.99\. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* Wow, [Pussy Riot goes to some harsh prison camps](http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/oct/22/pussy-riot-remote-prison-camps?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). I feel kinda bad for the girls, but overall, I have no problem with the sentence. Our country should do more to clamp down on hooliganism, even if it's framed in terms of "expression." \* \* \* \* \* \* \* I took Marie to see *Argo* last night, so that's it for this morning. I highly recommend the movie, incidentally.
