A leading Scots headteacher has claimed parents who won't say "no" to their children are making life harder for schools.
Education expert Mike Beale said teachers are increasingly having to tell mums and dads to stand up to their kids.
He insisted that discipline at home is essential for learning and attacked the idea that families had to be "democracies."

Then again, if everyone started thinking like this, the public schools wouldn't be responsible for the physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being of every child (in the past, they just took care of the intellectual part). If that happens, they wouldn't have a claim to excessive tax dollars, and the state-wide bureaucracies would shrink. What would we do then?
