Et Tu, Girl Scouts?
I've heard complaints that the Girl Scouts were hijacked by feminist-like forces, but I don't know what to make of the rumors. I'll throw this item out for consideration because I'm tired of feminists and others of their ilk infiltrating organizations and then surreptitiously pushing their agenda. I don't know, however, if that is what happened with GS of A. (Side note: My wife was a girl scout until she was 18, much to my general amusement.)
The national website for the Girl Scouts of America says the organization has a combined membership of nearly four million that is still growing strong. However, one former troop leader and recruiter says the organization is growing in the wrong direction.
October's Girl Scout Convention in Atlanta will mark the 50th anniversary for the scouting organization, and more of what Patti Garibay describes as an ultra-liberal agenda that flows from the top down nationally.
