My Kind of Town
I live two hours from Chicago (it take me 2 hours and 15 minutes to go from my driveway to the parking plaza at The Water Tower). I really like the town and have even ventured there a few times with all children in tow (crouching down and yelling at them before crossing 8-lane Michigan Avenue: "Stay right with me. The slow and dawdling will get run over!").
Anyway, the Chicago Tribune is running an on-line poll of Chicago's greatest attractions. If you care to vote, go here.
The list of nominees:
The Lakefront
The Water Tower
The "L"
Wrigley Field
Millennium Park
Sears Tower
Chicago hot dog
University of Chicago
Chicago theater scene
Chicago bungalows
Museum of Science and Industry
Chicago River
Lower Wacker Drive
Chicago Blues
I think they should've added "Deep Dish Pizza" and "Architectural Heritage," but no matter. It's a neat list.
