Around age 19, I caught a reading bug and started reading everything that could possibly help settle dozens (millions?) of both precise and vague questions that bothered me. A constant but undisciplined reading frenzy continued for about three years, then I ran across James Schall's *[Another Sort of Learning](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/089870183X/thedailyeudem-20?ref=thedailyeudemon.com)*, a wonderful little book that contains great advice and, more important, great reading lists. After I finished it, I plunged into the lists. One of the first books I read was E.F. Schumacher's *A Guide for the Perplexed*. The book stunned me and opened up a view of existence that I previously thought was reserved for hippies and LSD freaks.

For some reason, I thought the book has been out of print, but apparently not. Amazon has two left in stock and is getting more. If you're interested, here's the [Link](http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0060906111/thedailyeudem-20?ref=thedailyeudemon.com).
