Conan O'Brien officiated a gay wedding yesterday. I made myself watch the video (which is everywhere on the web this morning).

I'm numb at the cultural divide in our country. Based on the web buzz, the elite watch the video and see beauty and love. I watch the video and see caricature and grotesquerie. I know I'm sincere, and I assume they are, too. With that in mind, where can there be common ground?

There can't, which is why the pro-gay people are right: My likes must be snuffed out, at least figuratively through stifling of First Amendment rights ('hate speech"). I don't think they literally want to snuff out my likes, but at times I'm not so sure.
