Frugal or cheap? I define "frugal" to mean a person who inconveniences himself in his quest to save money. The "cheap" person is the guy who inconveniences others. Wendy McElroy makes a case for frugality. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Seen on Facebook. "Hoedown in Detroit! We hope she's alright." * * * * * * * Neologism. A new word is making its rounds in my area: shload. Meaning, a whole bunch, more than just a load of something. From what I understand, it was originally a contraction ("sh'load"), but the apostrophe is now gone. * * * * * * * Funny Kimmel. "A Dairy Queen in Canada broke a world record this week by creating a 10-ton ice cream dessert. Or as we call that in America, 'a medium.'" * * * * * * * Review. I took the kids to Thor yesterday. It wasn't bad. Very clean. "6.5." * * * * * * * Decent Stat of the Day. Nearly 3/4s of the Antarctica's residents are Christian. * * * * * * * Public Sector Wage Watch. San Francisco's police receive monster pay. "Last year, 52 officers and command staff members took home total compensation of more than $200,000." The average police employee salary: $130,000.
