We never trusted Atkins. Indeed, we don't trust diets in general. But allow us to offer this simple piece of advice for those struggling to lose weight: Just cut out sugar and flour. Cut out candy, pop, bread, pastries, cookies, donuts, and pasta. Go ahead and eat peanuts, chips, vegetables, fruits, and meat. Eric Scheske followed this simple "diet" (which he read about in Dr. Gott's syndicated column) and lost 20 pounds without effort (dropping from 192 to 172).
