Working on My Glutes
I'm not sure how many of you read the comments section of TDE, so I want to clarify something about yesterday's post. From my response in the comments box: "I won't stop drinking. It's a matter of principle. I, too, tend to distrust teetotalers, unless it's like the Irish man who gave it up. Someone said to him, 'Oh, so you're a teetotaler,' and the man said, 'No, I just abstain.' There's a big difference. That being said, I'm doing neither." * * * * * * * I do, however, have a sudden interest in gluten-free beers, since gluten might be the thing that triggers my migraines and stomach problems. The whole phenomenon on gluten-free beer kinda freaked me out when I first heard about it, but now that I'm in that camp, I want to learn more. New Planet Beer Company (man, if that company doesn't sound leftist, I don't know what does) recently launched its third gluten-free beer, so it would appear the idea is catching on. If anyone has any recommendations, please pass them along. In the meantime, I'll maximize my wine intake and minimize my beer intake. * * * * * * * If you like to ride a bicycle (I do) and drink beer (I do), try Beercycling.com "We are proud to be a unique outdoor adventure company that specializes in bicycle touring with a beer-centric focus. All of our guided trips are custom created through first hand research and designed with the beer enthusiast in mind. Whether it be cycling through small villages and farms in Belgium in search of historic Trappist Abbeys, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Colorado for the ultimate high-elevation brewpub, or experiencing “beervana” at one of Portland, Oregon's 47 breweries, we've done the leg work, planning, (not to mention lots of sampling!) and are committed to providing the best possible travel service to fellow beer lovers." * * * * * * * Is dark beer harsher than lighter beer? Maybe, maybe not. This article breaks it down. * * * * * * * That's it for today. The final day of Catholic Schools Week calls.
