I know Anchorage is in southern Alaska, but I would've thought it was night time at least 18 hours a day right now. No matter: They're hosting their 16th Annual Great Alaska Beer & Barley Wine Festival (pdf for flier). * * * * * * * According to this site, the Anchorage sun is rising at 10:00 a.m. and setting at 4:30 p.m. * * * * * * * I hadn't heard the term "barley wine" in years (actually, I'm not sure I'd ever heard it). I looked it up on Wikipedia. If you're curious: "Barleywine is a beer style of strong ale originating in England. The first beer to be marketed as Barley Wine was Bass No. 1 Ale, around 1900. The term 'barley wine' had been used before in other contexts." Link. * * * * * * * "Cougar Town" screams "chick TV," but maybe I'll have to watch it: the female characters drink a lot of wine.
