Gearing-Up-for-Holidays Edition

Tired of all the pumpkin ale stuff? [This site offers three autumn drinks that don't feature pumpkins](http://www.servedraw.com/2010/11/3-autumn-cocktails-sans-pumpkin/?ref=thedailyeudemon.com): The Rattlesnake, Ginger Smash, and Largo Al Factotum Della Citta. (Good luck pronouncing that last one after six.) Warning: They're pretty involved, but they look good. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* The FDA is shutting down the energy alcohol drink market. [Link](http://beeradvocate.com/forum/read/3201589?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). But who needs those companies? [You can make your own Four Loko!](http://www.liquorsnob.com/archives/2010/11/diy%5Fmake%5Fyour%5Fown%5Ffour%5Floko.php?ref=thedailyeudemon.com) You'll just need watermelon Jolly Ranchers, caffeine pills, malt liquor, Sprite and energy drink. That's right: Caffeine pills *and* an energy drink. Yikes. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* If you click on that last link, check out the commercial while you're there. It's pretty funny. \* \* \* \* \* \* \* I haven't seen any Christmas beers yet. I haven't been in a liquor store lately (and no, I'm not looking at my watch as a reference point), so maybe Christmas beers are already coming out and I just haven't noticed. No matter. They'll get here soon enough. I like a lot of those Winter ales (hint to my wife). \* \* \* \* \* \* \* Looking for a great Christmas gift? [Consider a flask](http://www.thespir.it/articles/shoot-from-the-hip/?ref=thedailyeudemon.com). "The flask is as close as you can come to a foolproof gift. There's one in nearly every price category, they're easy to engrave, and even tee-totalers can fill them with a non-alcoholic beverage. Anybody who has one can always use another, and anybody who doesn't want one is lying, or is someone who should come off of your gift list. Permanently."
