Sounds lame, but no matter: just make sure the actress is attractive, and folks will flock. The director might be a moral moron, but he presumably knows his business. He probably also knows that sex can cover up for mediocrity. If he botches the movie, fewer people will notice if they're caught up in the sex siren's good looks. Sex is a distraction that allows flaws to go unnoticed.
