Former California governor Jerry Brown married yesterday. That's surprising, but it doesn't cause Hell to freeze over. The freezing comes in this paragraph:
The couple were serenaded by Gregorian and Cistercian chants, a nod to Jerry Brown's days as a Jesuit scholar. Brown, who said the elements of the ceremony dated back at least 500 years, said, "To have real change, you have to be grounded in tradition."
What's next? Jane Fonda saying she's a long-time fan of Russell Kirk?
Another excerpt from the Brown nuptials story:
Brown, whose romantic life last made headlines in the 1970s when he dated singer Linda Ronstadt, proposed to Gust on her birthday in March after cooking her dinner in the loft they share in downtown Oakland.
A Catholic ceremony was planned later Saturday in St. Agnes' Church in San Francisco, the same church where Brown's parents, former Gov. Pat Brown and his wife, Bernice, were married.
