I assembled this post while watching the BCS championship game last night. I was using my laptop, so I didn't have my normal assortment of beer bookmarks. I was reduced to surfing naked (sorry, no pics) The results weren't bad:

Beer News Dot Org. It has a lot of good stuff, and it's apparently updated regularly. I found this nifty beer logo there:

Fellow Michiganders might be pleased to learn that we're hosting a four-month beer and wine dinner series. Details here. Unfortunately, it might completely suck. From the first installment: "First course: Carrot broth - soy beans and micro mint paired with Sparkling Riesling. Second course: Roasted Beet Salad - local aged goat cheese, fennel and honey paired with True Chardonnay 2009 (the first release of this wine)." I couldn't read any further.

I'm surprised I'd never heard this neologism before: Brewspaper. I might consider changing this weekly feature to "The Weekly Brewspaper." From what I can tell, nobody is using that name.

From my old standby, Modern Drunkard Magazine: 10 Best Things About Booze. Excerpt:

It's no wonder teetotaler artists and writers are especially eager to rail against alcohol–drinking provides an unfair advantage. It's steroids for the creative set. It not only allows you to look at something from a fresh angle, it pries open the door to the subconscious, the primordial muck from which all ideas spring.
The Roman philosopher Seneca said, “Drunkenness is nothing but voluntary madness,” and he was dead right. Applied liberally, alcohol makes you go out of your mind, and by that I mean it allows you to poke your head out of whatever mental rut you're trudging along in. Which is important, because that ditch doesn't offer much of a view.
