Hey Puny Boy II

A reader writes to ask about our post, "Hey Puny Boy with the Glasses." According to the reader, the theory advanced by the writer--that boys are lagging behind in school because they're punished for being testosterone-driven males--is close to the theory advanced by Christina Hoff Sommers in The War Against Boys, a book we haven't read but respect, based on many good reviews of it. We're not convinced the writer was making the same type of point advanced by Sommers (the writer seemed to be pushing a more therapeutic approach, rather than just letting boys be boys), but to the extent she is, we pull back any criticism inferred from our post.
