ACLU on BSA
The Americans for Catamites and Lesbians Union continues to flail away at the Boy Scouts, this time on separation of church and state grounds. LINK. Two excerpts:
"The Boy Scouts of America is pulling the charters of thousands of scouting units from public schools in an effort to spare them from lawsuits threatened by the American Civil Liberties Union."
"The BSA has learned to take the ACLU's threat of litigation seriously, having been in its crosshairs for 25 years. The ACLU has sued the BSA 14 times on similar grounds [of public schools chartering chapters]."
Don't panic, by the way. The Boy Scouts can still meet in those school districts. The ACLU just doesn't want the Boy Scouts to be sponsored by a school district. Frustrating and petty, yes, but not the end of the Boy Scouts world.
