Brewing Anti-Trust Problem?

InBev (Bud's adoptive father) and MillerCoors are raising prices on their beer at the same time . . . and at the same time that deflation still rules and consumers can ill afford to pay more for their alcohol. [The *NY Times* smells an anti-trust rat](http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/27/business/27views.html?%5Fr=1&ref=thedailyeudemon.com) and thinks the Obama administration might try to score political points by investigating it ("First we saved the economy, and now we saved beer!").

Of course, if Obama and the *NY Times* really wanted to keep beer prices low, they could remove [the federal beer tax](http://www.beersoaksamerica.org/tax.htm?ref=thedailyeudemon.com), but I don't see that happening.

Drinking Miscellany
