Goodness knows the poster girl for Walker Percy's culture of the naughty-nice, Britney Spears, is annoying, but could we give the girl a little peace and give the rest of the world a break from the pregnancy coverage?

Britney Spears' morning sickness is reaching new levels - after she was seen vomiting in a swanky hotel pool.

The five-months pregnant singer was swimming and talking to fellow guests at California's plush Ritz Carlton Hotel when she suddenly felt unwell.

Not being able to make the bathroom in time, she was forced to be sick at the side of the pool.

This celebrity obsession has gotten out of hand. It was out of hand by, say, 1975, but in the new world of instant-communication and vast news sources over the Internet, it's gone from stupid to gross.
