Buddery Slope to Water

A TDE reader sends this along: "AB InBev's adjusted EBITDA in its North American division, which is mainly the U.S. market, rose 43% to $1.74 billion from $1.22 billion a year ago. In addition to cost-cutting, the brewer's strong portfolio of beers in the U.S. - which includes cheaper beers such as Natural Light and Busch that have gained as the economy has slowed - helped to keep sales from slipping, and profits up." Here's the link, but you need a subscription (which I don't have) to get the whole story.

Bummer. If it's good for Budweiser, it's bad for beer. I've been so encouraged by the rise of craft beers, I forgot people still drink that crap.

Great Picture

One of the best beer pictures I've ever seen:

Got iPhone Just in Time

There aren't a lot of good drinking applications for the iPhone, but it looks like one's coming out: Tap Hunter.

Tap Hunter is a new online service that allows you to search for your favorite craft beer on tap at breweries, beer pub, local bars etc!
Although the service has been only available in metro San Diego during beta testing, Tap Hunter is gearing up for their multi-market debut at the Great American Beer Festival next month. Chief Tap Hunter Jeff has been working relentlessly with help of Chris, an experienced iPhone app developer to make the already cool service accessible from mobile device so that devoted beer lovers can catch their favorite brew while it's fresh on tap!

Send Links!

I really appreciate story leads, for any day, but especially for BYCU. If you see anything on the Web that others might find interesting, please send the link to me (email link on the left: ejscheske @ yahoo . com).
