Thanks for glorifying inner-city gangs: Bristol Township police and school officials decided Tyrone Lewis, the standout athlete and senior class president, would not be allowed to attend his high school graduation on Friday. Police said Tyrone was the target of a “credible” threat that he would be shot at the ceremony scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the high school stadium.
Science as common sense: “It seems that many young men aspire to an idea of masculinity that includes emotional and physical toughness, being the bread-winner, confidence in risk-taking and sexual confidence. A variety of behaviours, some that have a positive impact on health, some that have a negative, are employed to develop and demonstrate such masculine identities” says Dr de Visser.
