Vodka is now my drink of choice. I try to drink red wine, but when the day comes to an end and I'm ready to unwind, health concerns take a back seat.

Of course, not everyone likes vodka, even people who drink hard liquor. I found this nifty list at Listverse: Top 10 Classic Cocktails and it purposefully excludes all drinks made with the liquor of the Rus:

Some things to note about cocktails: a true cocktail will never include milk or cream. Additionally, none of the cocktails below use vodka as the aim of a cocktail is to enjoy the flavored spirit and vodka is a raw spirit ”“ if you must have vodka, stick to a a vodka and orange ”“ don't waste expensive cocktail ingredients by mixing them with this bland spirit.

It's a pretty good list. It starts with a drink that I want to start making: the Tom Collins. The problem is, gin often gives me a headache, so I normally want to stop at just one or two shots worth, but I normally never want to stop at just one or two shots worth. Oh well. We all have our crosses to bear and puzzles to work out. I'll continue to grapple with this one, but in the meantime, I'll lean on vodka as my staple.
