H.I.F.

So tell me more about the voting for the SEC Defensive Player of the Year.

Any chance Michael Sam's sexual orientation and pending announcement were leaked to potential voters, who cast their vote in favor of him in order to "make a political point"?

I have no idea, but consider:

As of this typing (mid-way through fourth round), EIGHT defensive players from the SEC have been drafted. Michael Sam is not one of them.

Missouri's other defensive end has been drafted. I didn't even know the guy's name and, even though I just read it five minutes ago, I can't remember it now.

I just heard on ESPN that it has been many years since the SEC Defensive Player of the Year wasn't drafted in the first two rounds. I didn't catch the year it last happened, but I thought the announcer said "1996."

Although he led the SEC in sacks (11.5, compared to the next highest's 10.5), he didn't even rank in the SEC's top 50 in total tackles.

So any chance there was a leak and politically-correct voting for that award?

I'm not saying. I'm just saying.
