I saw Noah last night. I give it a “6.” Enjoyable enough, but certainly worth waiting for the rental.
And of this I’m convinced: All the “controversy” surrounding the movie was nothing but a PR stunt. The movie was simply silly. “Methuselah Meets the Transformers.” If you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about. Suffice it to say: The movie was loosely based on the Book of Genesis, and that’s about it (heck, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug followed the book more closely).
The idea that Russell Crowe really wanted the Pope’s approval on it, and the idea that Christians actually took offense at the movie, strikes me as absurd. I wouldn’t expect the Pope to endorse Noah any more than I’d expect him to endorse Gladiator, and a Christian shouldn’t take offense at Noah any more than a Christian would take offense at Beavis and Butthead.Bookmark it: del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
