Whew. The container planting nears its end. After tomorrow, I’ll have scores of containers with vegetables, herbs, and beneficials (flowers that help ward off pests). It’s been tiring. Over Memorial Day, I’ll finish my ground planting with winter squash, pumpkins, watermelon, cucumbers, and zucchini.
Pretty Good Late Night
“The Great Gatsby” is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel. I was surprised when I saw that it’s in 3-D. I guess they wanted Fitzgerald’s sardonic critique of materialism to come right at you. Craig Ferguson.
I’ve been meaning to post about this story for awhile: Cool cities campaign a flop. Michigan’s Jennifer Granholm bought into this fraud. The premise: If you create cool neighborhoods (coffee shops, boutiques, wine bars, etc.), the entrepreneurial type will follow, bringing with them jobs. Nice idea. The only problem: It doesn’t work. Even the guy who made money from marketing the idea to stooges admits it. The story is here.Bookmark it: del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
