Okay, the winter doldrums are now here. We packed Alex and Abbie back to Ann Arbor yesterday, the kids are back in school, the football bowl season is over. It's time to hunker down and wait out the snow. Then again, the forecast calls for temperatures in the forties and fifties. * * * * * * * The most dangerous cities in America? Flint and Detroit, according to NBC News. The entire top 10 list can be found at this site. I was kind of surprised to see Little Rock and Birmingham on the list. I never really thought of them as meccas of violence. * * * * * * * Is inflation the product of capitalism or monetary policy?
