Chesterton Square

Any TDE readers ever been to Ponchatoula, Louisiana? I guess it contains "Chesterton Square," which in turn contains a massive statue of GKC. The Ponchatoula Wikipedia entry doesn't even mention this nifty little tribute, but I thought it was pretty cool (I read about in the current issue of Gilbert Magazine).

Also in the current issue: A plug for Catholic Insight. I gather it's a brand new publication, and I know nothing about it, except its editor: David Beresford. He's a solid guy, so I expect a solid publication.

As long as I'm plugging new publishing endeavors, I might as well mention this fairly new blog that is dedicated to a libertarian analysis of sports: Man, Economy & Sport. Libertarian readers will notice the Rothbardian influence on the blog's name. If you like economics and sports, this site holds great promise. On a ten-minute trip there this weekend, I learned that Bain Capital tried to buy the entire NHL in 2005 for $3.5 billion, some people actually think college football could again compete with the NFL some day (relatively soon), and the NFL engages in all sorts of chicanery to promote the myth that its games normally sell out (e.g., "league policy prohibits anyone from selling tickets below face value on [the NFL ticket resale] website").
