The temperature dropped to 30 degrees Sunday evening. We went out Sunday afternoon and gathered up as many tomatoes--red, yellow, green--that we could. We ended up with about a thousand cherry and grape tomatoes, most of them green. We have no idea what we'll do with them, but hopefully, they'll ripen at different intervals and provide eating pleasure for the next couple of weeks, but heck if I know.

This might be my favorite time of the year for gardening, incidentally. I really like to make compost. People are throwing away all sorts of trash that I can turn into rich soil. I have three large-ish compost piles, three small in-garden compost piles, and six containers of finished compost.

I guess that's all for today. I hadn't planned on such a lame post, but no stories have struck my blogging fancy. This is the only decent story I've found: Nerds Rejoice! Google's settlement with publishers is an important step toward making millions of rare and out-of-print books available online. Link.
