I need a drink. It's the first full day of Spring, and I woke up to snow accumulation. Sure, it'll burn off soon enough, but still.

Another reason to drink: It's Friday and it's Round One of the NCAA Basketball Tournament (technically, "Round Two," but nobody except the NCAA and talking heads believe that). It's possibly the best drinking day of the year. Of course, I drank quite a bit on Wednesday night while bidding on NCAA teams so I'm not terribly inclined to drink this afternoon, but you never know. If the weather gets as nice as it's supposed to, I might not be able to resist.

Here are the rankings of Catholic colleges in this year's tournament based on their tournament seedings:
1 Villanova
2 Creighton
3 Saint Louis
4 Gonzaga
5 Dayton/Providence
7 St. Joseph's
8 Gonzaga
9 Manhattan

Now, the numbers above are not "rankings." They're "seedings," which is an entirely different thing. The article also provides a listing of the female Catholic teams in the Woman's Tournament, so it's probably not written by a particularly hardwood-inclined guy, but he also provides some good links at the end of the article. It's worth checking out.

I guess I never knew Dayton and Manhattan were Catholic. It makes me feel especially good for buying the Flyers in my auction. Of course, their victory over OSU yesterday helps, too.
