A few years ago, I got rid of my gold and silver and opted for gold mining stocks. It was a good move to get rid of the metals (I didn't like having it around my house and the price subsequently plummeted), but the gold mining stock investment has killed me. I, literally, have a few stocks that have lost 90% of their price since I bought. I told Marie last summer, "At this point, I'll just go down with the ship." Well, hopefully, the ship is rising. Mining stocks are up 6% this year and this guy says it's time to buy.
We'll see. Gold bugs have been touting mining stock since 2010.
