The Finals and Wives

Okay, I told you my Michigan Wolverines were going to slice through the tournament. Some of you no doubt didn't believe me, but remember: I predicted it here. Of course, I didn't actually believe it myself. I was being partly sarcastic, but now that we've made it to the championship game, I'm pretty stoked. * * * * * * * Alex and Abbie are students at Michigan (Sophomore and Freshman, respectively). They said South University (the main commercial drag along campus) was wild Saturday night. * * * * * * * What do you do when a significant number of your ideological cohorts abandon your core principle and live an entirely different way? Obviously: You simply deny it's your core principle. That's what feminists are doing now that women are increasingly choosing to stay home with the kids. And we're not talking about those freaky Christian women, either. We're talking hardcore leftists . . . who now find themselves increasingly home-schooling and trading recipes with Mormon moms who stay home all day with the kids, too. It's not a wholesale and practical rejection of feminism, though. Not at all. It's just feminism displaying its real power. I'm not making this up. The intellectual gore is on display at this New York article, but I need to give credit. The author, instead of merely sweeping the issue under the rug, does struggle with this awkward turn of events in ways that occasionally border on the ingenuous.
