Trifles

The backyard garden is beginning to take shape. I went to the city compost site and grabbed over 500 pounds of decomposed wood chips yesterday. I mixed a chunk of it with "primo" compost (mostly, kitchen scraps) to balance out the carbon and nitrogen, dumped about 200 pounds of the concoction on my sister-in-law's garden, then started working on my large containers (which will mostly hold herbs). Here's where I am so far. * * * * * * * Digital things die quickly. I recently stumbled across one of my old blogging columns for National Catholic Register
in 2007. Most of the Catholic blogs I plugged are no longer active. I think TDE, which has been around since 2002 (I'm not sure why my archives start at 2004), is about 105 years old in blogging years. * * * * * * * Did you know Francis I will be the last pope? That, according to one interpretation of Nostradamus and some other "prophecies." * * * * * * * I work in the garden, help my wife clean and let her handle the checkbook, and don't know anything about automotive repair. I'm in big trouble: "Couples in which men participate more in housework typically done by women report having sex less frequently. Similarly, couples in which men participate more in traditionally masculine tasks–such as yard work, paying bills, and auto maintenance–report higher sexual frequency." Link.
