This piece of sophomoric humor comes from my Sophomore, Jack. It cracked me up, plus it's a little politically incorrect, so I've posted it, albeit with slight reservations. * * * * * * * I'm trying hard to start most or all of my garden from seeds this year, but one of the biggest problems is finding seeds. I have patronized about five different seed sites, but I'm always forced to buy far more seeds than I need. But no longer. TDE reader Kevin referred me to Pinetree Garden Seeds. I found almost all of the remaining seeds I needed for this year's garden . . . at about half the cost I typically pay. I'm only getting 10-25 seeds per pack, but I simply don't need 50-100 seeds and, though they'll store for years (1-5, depending on the seed), I'm running out of room in my freezer. This nifty site is also easy to navigate and has features I haven't found on other sites (most particularly, a whole page dedicated to "container seeds"). * * * * * * * I'm still, however, looking for munchkin broccoli seeds. If you know of a cheap source, please let me know. * * * * * * * Make your own container garden out of straw bales. Looks pretty cool. * * * * * * * Reason to Retreat to Your Garden, Episode #2,092,104: "Enterprise Florida has unveiled its new logo: the word 'FLORIDA' written in green letters, with the 'I' represented as orange necktie. The tag line reads, 'The Perfect Climate For Business.' But some women business leaders said the logo is sexist, saying that most women don't wear neckties." Link. Nassim Taleb occasionally uses the term "petty souled." We really need to get it into currency.
